Juliet Jameson finds herself in a difficult situation at her first high school party, trapped in a dark room with a girl named Piper. Great, quick read. I was hooked from the first page and couldn't put it down. Looking forward to more books of this genre from this author.
A beautifully written love story as a young woman learns to follow her heart. There are sentences that were so powerful I would stop reading to think about them! I love that this is'nt a cookie cutter romance and takes an important look at some of the relevant issues for not just gay teens but all teens in general. The characters are so relatable and this author has a gift for dialogue! Would gladly read anything written by Melody Robinette...awesome job!
The parallel development of the story is interesting (chapters are alternated and designated by either Juliet or Jules) and I read it a second time but just the parallel Jules.
Juliet/Jules is a complex person capable of courage, integrity and honesty but susceptible to intimidation and all the self destructive symptoms that go with living in fear and not as you should.
I enjoyed the parallel perspectives as they developed and highly recommend this book.
